Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash/Mask

This face wash was a little different to what I expected it to be. It was a lot less scrubby and instead has a more smooth consistency, although with some tiny grains.
The product is clay based and has a slight citrus scent that is pleasant and refreshing. The package states that it ‘quickly dissolves oil and helps eliminate spot-causing bacteria’. I have used this as both a wash and a mask and must say that I prefer it as a wash.

When used as a mask I find that the product is tough to wash off and can leave a slight residue. The exothermic reaction that happens when this product comes in contact with the skin is also a bit much in my opinion. I found it a little bit painful to wash my face with slightly cool water after using this as a mask because of the reaction, however when used as a wash the product is not on the skin for long enough to cause the same level of pain.

When used as a wash the product washes onto the face and the tiny grains can be felt, it is a nice wash that is rather thick. After rinsing off, which does take a while; the skin feels clean and fresh, and I have seen a noticeable difference in my skin being brighter since I have started to use this product.

Overall I think this is an ok product, but I personally prefer the Garnier 3 – in –1 product that is very similar to this as the wash also is a scrub.
I purchased my tube from Savers, but it is also available from Boots for £3.79 (150ml) which is a pretty average price for this kind of product!

Have you tried this face wash/mask? What did you think?

  1. I've used this before. I was little unsure about the mask part. I did try it out but it was kind of odd.

  2. I've never tried this product but I do love when cleansers are citrus scented so I may give it a go! I find that the St. Ives apricot cleanser works great. Great post.
