Gucci Bloom Review | Fragrance Friday | Blogvember Day 10 | Emma Jayne

Happy Friday Emma-Jayne Readers. It’s Friday during Blogvember which can only mean one thing; Fragrance Friday! Every Friday this month I am uploading a fragrance/perfume related post! This week it’s the turn of Gucci Bloom another new perfume that I’ve had for about 3 months.

I Picked up Gucci Bloom in Duty free on my way to Rhodes over the summer at London Gatwick. They were promoting it as a new perfume and I was feeling a bit frivolous with my money and was easily sold to. I firstly fell in love with the simple classic clean bottle and then the fragrance to match was lovely.

Gucci describe the fragrance as:

Debuting the first fragrance developed wholly under Alessandro Michele’s creative vision: a scent designed to celebrate the authenticity, vitality and diversity of women—flourishing in a natural, expressive and individual way. Blended by master perfumer Alberto Morillas under the direction of the House’s Creative Director, Gucci Bloom is created to unfold like its name, capturing the rich scent of a thriving garden filled with an abundance of flowers. Tuberose and jasmine combine with Rangoon Creeper—a unique flower discovered in South India that is being used for the first time in perfumery to create a rich fragrance that transports the wearer to an imaginary garden. The scent is presented in a lacquered bottle, reminiscent of porcelain, in a vintage powder pink shade with a Gucci label appliqué.

Now ignoring all the waffle there, when I smell it, it is a clean floral fragrance with a light feel about it and when I wear this perfume it makes me feel fresh and clean. It sounds like a particularly spring and summer perfume, but there is a slightly musky undertone that I love and helps to take the floral scent into the autumn and winter.

When I've worn this perfume I find it long wearing and subtle with the musky smell predominantly staying on me. I love these musky fragrances and find that the drop in floral scents doesn’t bother me during the day. This is really a perfect afternoon evening scent for those time when its not appropriate to go for too much of a ‘sexy’ smell, but you want something with a little more oomph – such a evening drinks with the girls or even a day date.

Gucci bloom isn’t a cheap perfume retailing between £52 (30ml) and £99 (100ml) however I would recommend it – particularly if you can find it in a sale as it’s a lovely option to have in any collection.

Let me know what your perfume loves are right now, I’m starting to get quiet a collection (but, am always on the look out for more!)
