Nails Inc. London Nail Varnish: Eaton Mews

This is a bit of a rediscovery for me. I was looking through my collection for the perfect spring Valentine’s Day nail polish and veered away from my ever growing Barry M collection and gave this little beauty a go! I received this as a gift one Christmas from a friend and though I liked it at the time, I wasn't as into doing my nails on a regular basis as I am now.

During application this products formula is such a smooth consistency with a relatively good colour payoff, although it definitely looks better with 2 coats and dry’s super quick (well quicker than Barry M anyway). I find 2 coats plus a top and bottom coat will last just shy of a week which is rather good!

Eaton mews is a slightly pinky red with a slight shimmer running through which give a really gorgeous effect when the light catches it. Unfortunately after looking on the website it does not look like this colour is still available but they have some very similar products such as ‘Waterloo palace’ from the ‘A Touch of Sparkle Collection’.  At £8 for the collection (3 full size (10ml) Polishes) and £11 for a single full size (10ml) polish, the collections are definitely the way to go with nails Inc.

I am totally in love with this colour and the formula and will totally be looking to pick up some more of their wonderful products.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Eau De Parfum

This is easily my favourite perfume; it is a musky, sweet, vanillary scent. It is described by Juicy Couture to have top notes of wild berries and juicy mandarin gently tempered with honeysuckle, gardenia and jasmine. Underlying it all are warm tones of amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline. Together it makes for a beautiful smell, if you like sweet scents. To me it is a night scent and by that I mean an occasion scent. I personally don’t think it is one to wear all day every day.

On occasions when I do wear it, it makes me feel sophisticated and ready for the occasion. The lasting power however is slightly disappointing. On the skin the perfume will last approximately 3-4 hours after which there is a dull smell that really does not radiate off the skin.

At £34.50 (30ml), £46.50 (50ml) and £62.50 (100ml) it is an expensive product to have a short lasting power. However if used as I do, I don’t think this is a major problem! I received this bottle as a gift from my sister and I will certainly be re-purchasing it when I run out!

Have you tried Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy? What your other favourite perfume?

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

This is a slightly odd product that I really just cannot make my mind up on! Baby Skin is a lightweight primer from Maybelline that states it makes pores appear instantly erased for smooth looking skin. The product is a silicone like gel which makes the skin feel super silky and smooth. When I apply this it feels great on my face and makes putting on foundation super easy as it just glides on top of the primer which acts as a perfect base.

On the note of the pore erasing I don’t currently suffer with huge pores, but I feel this product does not erase the few I have, it does however make them look slightly smaller, but still there. I love how this feels under my make-up and it keeps it looking flawless for the whole day! The only issue I have with this product is that I feel it makes my makeup transfer easier as to when I don’t use it. So my make-up will last all day as long as it’s not touched!

Over all it is an odd little product that I think I am growing to like more every time I use it if I can remember to stop touching my face! At £7.99 (22ml) I find it is slightly pricy for what it is and the hyped up claims have possibly made me slightly more disappointed than I would have been if I had not heard of it before.  I am uncertain as to if I would repurchase this and will have to see how the rest of the bottle go.

Have you used Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser? What are your thoughts on it?

On a slight side note I am currently at University and as part of my course I have to undertake a research dissertation. I would be thankful if you are between the age of 30-80 or younger and older if you would be able to fill out my questionnaire: http://www.survey.bris.ac.uk/aber/governmentinitatives looking into behavioural changes over the past 5 years relating to physical activity and health.
